Championed Microsoft Teams design—fostering seamless collaboration
As Design Lead for Microsoft Teams, I played a pivotal role in envisioning the v1 release, focusing on core messaging and delightful collaboration features that now serve millions of enterprise users worldwide. I led design direction for features like 1:1 chat, group chat, channels, threads, meetings, and file/content sharing. Through close collaboration with engineering and product leads, we prioritized craft and raised the overall quality of the product. I also built strong relationships with cross-functional partners, advocating for design's role in decision-making and successfully pitching new industry verticals to senior leadership.

From pitch to reality
My team and I successfully pitched and established a new organization focused on industry verticals, notably regulated sectors like healthcare, financial services, and government, as well as Teams for consumer and education. I managed and led the Verticals design team to create compelling experiences for collaboration and productivity in industry specific workplaces which included working closely with other design leads, product managers, and engineering leads within and outside of our organization to rationalize a more unified experience across the Microsoft Office Suite.
My team engaged with researchers early and often to hone and develop our experiences by learning how to manage user expectations and measuring successes and failures not only through data, but hearing it directly from the users themselves. I led my team to work smarter, not harder and influenced the design studio by modeling that it’s possible to work effectively and productively, while still having some fun!

Revolutionizing care team collaboration and virtual health with Microsoft Teams
Led a team of 10 designers to create an end-to-end Virtual Appointments experience, which became a critical tool for connecting patients and providers during the height of the pandemic. This full-stack solution, which surpassed the initial OKR goals of over 100K bookings/month after launch—has helped numerous patients by providing a seamless, secure, and user-friendly experiences for both clinicians and patients.
This work enabled nurses and clinicians to efficiently book and schedule patients by streamlining the patient triage workflow and reducing wait times. The virtual waiting room experience enhanced patient engagement and reduced anxiety through a comfortable and informative virtual space that led into a seamless in-meeting experience. With electronic health record (EHR) features embedded in the meeting experience, this allowed providers to easily access patient data and focus more on what matters most—delivering optimal patient care.

Helping leaders take the first step in rolling out AI for their organizations
My team and I spearheaded the launch of Microsoft Copilot Dashboard within Viva Insights, equipping organizations to harness the full potential of the Copilot AI assistant throughout the Microsoft 365 suite. This platform delivers practical insights that prepare your organization for AI deployment, fosters adoption by illustrating AI’s role in evolving workplace dynamics, and quantifies Copilot’s influence.
I collaborated closely with the high-visibility senior leadership team, rapidly incorporating their insights to guide the feature crew in tandem with a dependent team. The designer and I created a polished prototype that was used multiple times as a POR for alignment across senior stakeholders ensuring the provision of exceptional seeded and premium offerings to our customers. My team and I worked in concert with fellow product leaders within the Viva Suite (Viva Pulse), to guarantee a comprehensive perspective enriched with sentiment survey results.
The launch was announced on January 2024 by Satya Nadella at the Davos conference - World Economic Forum, Microsoft Ignite 2024, and the Gartner conference.

A storybook on overcoming your fears
I worked on this storybook with my 8-year old niece, the author of this book, whose story I made come to life through illustrations based on her storyboards. Here she is very excited to receive her own publication in the mail. She went on to share this book with her class teacher and principal who requested a copy of the book to be kept in the school library archives.
Inspiring a new generation of girls to fight for equality
I partnered with author Emily Kim on a Kickstarter campaign to create a children’s book that inspires young readers about equality. Using a charming, slightly sketchy 4th grader’s illustration style, I brought Emily’s vision to life. The campaign was successfully funded, and backers received their book complete with a delightful cookie pillow and a tasty treat!
